The City of Toronto is looking for public input on rail safety and proposed options for sharing information with the City, the community and railway users on railway issues.

Toronto residents are invited to provide their comments at a public meeting:

Date: Thursday, May 21

Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Location: Metro Hall, 55 John St. (Rooms 308 and 309)

Registration for the meeting and an open house will begin at 6:30 p.m. The public session will begin at 7 p.m., when staff will make a formal presentation, then take questions and hear remarks from the public, and facilitate discussion on identifying and prioritizing issues. The venue is wheelchair accessible and ASL interpretation will be provided upon request.

WatermainReplacementThe City of Toronto is replacing watermains in your area. This project will also involve replacing the City-owned portion of any substandard water services in order to improve water system capacity and quality. This project is part of the 2014 Council approved Watermain Replacement Program.

The Mayor's Task Force on Toronto Community Housing is examining how Toronto Community Housing serves the people of Toronto and how it is governed. The task force is holding four community meetings in May at which Toronto residents are invited to share their ideas on how to improve Toronto Community Housing.

Each public session will begin at 6:30 p.m. with an open house, followed at 7 p.m. by welcoming remarks from Senator Art Eggleton, Task Force Chair, and then discussion about Toronto Community Housing and a question-and-answer period.

Toronto residents and businesses are being asked to complete a survey to help the City's Transportation Services division create a plan for expanding and improving Toronto's 856-kilometre cycling network over the next 10 years.

"The City of Toronto is committed to expanding and improving our cycling network," said Councillor Jaye Robinson (Ward 25 Don Valley West), Chair of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee. "The survey lets Toronto residents provide input on the objectives and criteria for selecting the routes that will form the cycling network."

On Monday, May 25, join thousands of other cyclists from across the city for the 26th annual Bike to Work Day.

Rides begin at various locations across the city. The main ride from Yonge & Charles begins at 7:30 a.m. From there, the group rides together to City Hall to enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast provided by St. Lawrence Market, before heading to work. Cycling Network Plan Public Consultation

The City of Toronto is developing a 10-year plan for expanding and improving the cycling network. Public consultation on the Cycling Network Plan will have two main phases:
  • In Phase 1 the City is looking for feedback on the objectives and criteria for selecting the routes that will form the network.
  • In Phase 2 consultation will be provide an opportunity to comment on a draft network.
