The City of Toronto has launched a new online engagement platform called IdeaSpace. The introduction of IdeaSpace at http://www.toronto.ca/ideaspace is the beginning of a year-long pilot project aimed at increasing engagement with Toronto residents.

The introduction of this online platform is a key element of the City's efforts to increase accessibility and broaden engagement.

Beginning as early as Monday, July 21 2014, (pending the return of Queen street streetcar service and traffic across Broadview) a closure of the Leslie Street and Eastern Avenue intersection is required until approximatelyAugust 31, 2014.

Soil conditions are not stable enough to excavate the intersection one half at a time, as there is risk that the pavement would collapse. For safety reasons, a full closure is required.

The City of Toronto has established a new web page that lists construction projects taking place on main roads, with the intention of helping people make choices in planning their travel on Toronto's streets.

"This online information will help residents and visitors alike as they make plans to travel in the city," said Mayor Rob Ford. "This information will also give people a sense of the extent of work the City is doing across Toronto to improve the transportation infrastructure as part of our ongoing focus on fighting traffic congestion."
