The City of Toronto has been named as a finalist in the C40 Cities Awards, a program of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. The awards provide global recognition for cities that demonstrate world-leading policies and programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve sustainability all over the world.
The Toronto Atmospheric Fund (TAF), an agency dedicated to providing funding to facilitate action on climate change, is the focus of the City's finalist designation in the Finance and Economic Development category.

I agree that ranked ballot voting is an exciting concept. So are other voting reform concepts like proportional representation. Meaningful reforms that get more people engaged and out to vote should be a priority for all governments.
Thanks to the feedback we received from the community in July 2015, we are pleased to announce that the playground design has been finalized.
We received lots of great comments and suggestions in support of many of the proposed features and as a result established features that are the most important to the community. Popular features of the design included the slide, amphitheatre seating,climbing rocks, climbing structure, and water play. Overall, there was great support for the use of natural materials (i.e. rocks, logs, water) in the playground design.
There is always so much going on in Ward 30. You can read about work being done at City Hall, community groups and events, and an overview of the various ways we're getting the City moving on transit, by bike or foot, and with road improvements in the Fall/Winter edition of my newsletter.
TalkTransformation! Preparing for an Extreme Weather Future – Community and Infrastructure Resilience will exchange ideas on ways that Toronto can build its resilience given the predicted rise in temperature and precipitation, as the year 2050 approaches.
TransformTO is a two-year project that will engage Toronto residents and businesses in imagining the transformative changes we will need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 80%, while at the same time improving public health, enhancing our local economy, and reducing social inequalities.
