On October 17th the Boultbee and Jones Traffic Light will come to Toronto and East York Community Council. At that meeting I will move this motion to overturn the negative recommendation from Transportation Services:
"City Council authorize the installation of traffic control signals at the intersection of Boultbee Avenue and Jones Avenue."
Here are some ways you can get involved to support my motion for the light.
A year ago we celebrated our wonderful new Leslieville mural by Elicser Elliot at Queen and Jones.
Starting Tuesday, October 10th well known artist Evond Blake (Mediah) will begin another signature mural for Leslieville, this time at Queen and Boston as part of our new popular Bike Share location. The design even has a bike in it! You can see more of his work at www.mediahstudio.com.
Thank you for your efforts and support to save the Centreville antique carousel! So many people wrote or called in and over 2,200 people signed our petition that was presented to City Council. Eight of the councillors who want to keep the carousel in Toronto helped me present the petitions on October 4th.
Here is the motion that City Council passed:

Save the Centreville Antique Carousel
Centreville's 110 year old antique carousel has delighted thousands of children for over half a century. It boasts 52 hand carved wooden animals including cats, pigs, ostriches and rabbits and is one of only a handful of Dentzel Menagerie Carousels left in the world and the only one in Canada. The carousel is an important part of Toronto's history and a part of people's histories.
The city continues to phase in delivery of the new Green Bins with distribution to the neighbourhoods in the southern part of District 3 (east of Yonge, west of Victoria Park and south of Eglinton) starting on August 22, 2017.
City of Toronto to launch easier, more convenient process for disputing parking violations
The City of Toronto is introducing a new, easier and more convenient process to dispute parking violations. Disputes for parking violations received on or after August 28 will be handled by the City instead of through the provincial court, improving customer service by providing faster resolutions and a more efficient overall process.

The City of Toronto is asking residents if they think the City should pursue a tax on vacant homes in Toronto. A vacant homes tax is one of a number of initiatives the City is considering to address housing availability and affordability in Toronto. Vacant homes represent a potential source of readily available housing and a tax may encourage owners to rent out vacant units.
