The City's laneway suites study called Changing Lanes gets underway with a public consultation meeting on Thursday, November 30 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W. The study will consider permitting laneway suites in Toronto and East York.

A laneway suite is a dwelling unit situated on the same lot as a detached house, semi-detached house or townhouse which is completely detached from the main house. It would generally be located behind an existing house with a laneway and be smaller in scale than the main house on the lot.

ATTEND A COMMUNITY CONSULTATION

There is a Community Consultation scheduled for each of the four City of Toronto Wards that East End Arts serves (Ward 29-32).

Council recently adopted a review of how the City locates homeless shelters, making it clear that the conversation about homelessness services has to change. To do that, homeless shelters—programs, service delivery models, and building designs—all need to be transformed.

Understanding that language and names are powerful signals of the transformative changes being proposed through the new service model, Council also suggested staff consider new names for the service.

The newest mural in Leslieville is bringing a lot of excitement to the Queen St. East and Boston Avenue intersection. Located on the side of 1014 Queen St. East, this powerful mural shares the space with a new popular Bike Share station.

The Mural Launch took place on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at Queen St. East and Boston Ave. Councillor Paula Fletcher was joined by the artist MEDIAH (Evond Blake) and staff from StreetARToronto, Toronto Parking Authority (TPA), Bike Share and Public Realm.

The City of Toronto's Live Green Toronto has upgraded the Live Green Card to a new app-based rewards program called Live Green Perks that offers members exclusive access to discounts and deals at local businesses, and invitations to special events and contests. Businesses offering deals and discounts via the app include local restaurants, retail shops and attractions that offer eco-friendly products, services or experiences.
