Toronto-Danforth Coun. Paula Fletcher is hosting a town hall on transportation safety issues in Ward 30 on Monday, Oct. 16.

The gathering, which will take a close look at the City of Toronto’s Vision Zero Road Safety Plan, will be held at the Ralph Thornton Centre, 765 Queen St. E., just west of Broadview Avenue, from 7 to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Barbara Gray, Toronto’s new head of transportation, will also be in attendance.

On Sept. 22, Fletcher, along with Ward 15 Toronto District School Board trustee Jennifer Story penned a letter to Gray and Dr. John Malloy, the school board's director of education, encouraging the public school board and the city to speed up efforts to develop School Safety Zones pilot programs under the Vision Zero Plan, which is a comprehensive five-year action plan focused on reducing traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries on Toronto’s streets.
