Businesses and councillors in areas where cannabis shops have popped up like mushrooms over the last couple of years are expressing concern about a lack of proper planning and regulation around where they can go.

Two Toronto councillors want the province to stop issuing new cannabis retail licences until residents have more say over where pot shops are located in their communities.
Having received recommendations from the Ontario Ministry of Health on the expanded eligibility for third doses of COVID-19 vaccines today, Toronto Public Health (TPH) is preparing for the next phase of the vaccination campaign. The recommendations follow last week’s guidance on third doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).
The City of Toronto’s 2022 staff-recommended rate-supported operating and capital budgets were launched at Budget Committee today. The City has three rate-supported programs funded through user fees: Toronto Water, Solid Waste Management Services and the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA).
Today, the City of Toronto launched an improved 311 Toronto service experience, making the service easier and more convenient to use, offering more ways to connect with 311 Toronto and providing real-time status updates from start to finish.
Team Toronto is preparing to vaccinate children aged five to 11, once the vaccine is approved for this age group and the Ministry of Health provides the vaccine. To assist in planning, Team Toronto is proactively conducting outreach and education sessions, including hosting town halls, to build vaccine confidence and assist in planning for vaccine distribution.

Today, the City of Toronto’s Planning and Housing Committee voted to advance the new Inclusionary Zoning policy to get more affordable housing built.
Today, the City of Toronto’s Executive Committee led by Mayor John Tory approved a plan that recommends making CaféTO permanent as well as waiving permit fees for the program again in 2022. The report will now be considered by Toronto City Council on November 9 and 10.
