The City of Toronto has launched a Traffic Management and Mitigation Study within the Leslieville Community. This traffic study is underway because I heard from so many residents about road safety, in particular around schools, related to development applications on Eastern Ave and Queen Street.

Visitors to Toronto’s city hall will soon experience heightened security with baggage checks at main entrances and metal detector screening at council chambers.

The city is in the midst of an ambitious plan to offer recreation classes in activities like yoga and tai chi to the homeless.

"Being connected to the real world is such a big step to getting out, to getting settled in your own place," Coun. Paula Fletcher, who represents Ward 30, Toronto-Danforth, told CBC Toronto Tuesday.

This summer, from June 25 to September 8, the City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will replace streetcar tracks at the intersections of Broadview Avenue at Dundas Street East and Gerrard Street East which will result in phased intersection and road closures.

From Monday, June 25 at 4 a.m. until Monday, July 23, the intersection of Broadview Avenue and Dundas Street East will be closed for the first phase of replacement and repair work. During this time, only northbound travel will be permitted on Broadview Avenue between Gerrard Street East and Dundas Street East. From June 24 until July 24, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Broadview Avenue between Gerrard Street East and Danforth Avenue as crews work to repair other sections of track.

June 12, 2018 (Toronto, Ontario)Heritage Toronto is pleased to announce the launch of the Dundas + Carlaw Heritage Plaque District. Comprising ten plaques and a self-guided tour, the area is the first in Toronto to be comprehensively interpreted by the Plaques and Public Education Program. 5,000 tour brochures will be distributed throughout the district, allowing residents and visitors to learn more about the history of the area and its transformation to an arts and cultural hub.

The City of Toronto and Toronto Transit Commission will be rehabilitating aging TTC streetcar track on Broadview Avenue at the intersections and between Gerrard and Dundas streets. Work will require full closure of the intersections. Signs will be posted ahead of the construction zone to direct vehicle and cycling traffic around the site. Some localized work is also included on Broadview Avenue between Gerrard Street and Hogarth Avenue.

If I was still driving Car2Go cars like I used to, I imagine that I'd be upset as any car-share enthusiast at the company's announced departure.

The tiny two-seat Smart cars amounted to a much more affordable alternative to taxis when I was running late: I could grab one at a Green P lot near home, and haul down to City Hall or across town to a news conference for not much more than 10 bucks.
