Park Improvement with a Community Vision

Thank you to all of the residents who have contributed to the design for improvements to Felstead Park. The community design process has been tremendously rewarding and many of the ideas generated at our meetings have been incorporated into this final design.

The park will offer many exciting features including a re-purposed wading pool with water spout, new playground equipment including new swings, natural play features including climbing logs, and significant new tree plantings.

Small But Significant Victories

Thanks to the thousands of Ward 30 residents who signed petitions, wrote emails and letters, made phone calls, and attended City Hall during this budget process.

Along with many colleagues, I have worked for a budget which supports kids and families; protects the vulnerable and the elderly; supports a prosperous Toronto; and makes a liveable city. At times this has been a most difficult task.

The Chair of the Budget Committee has advised the City Clerk of the rescheduling of the following
meetings under s. 27-34 of the Council Procedures.
The meeting of the Budget Committee originally scheduled for December 8, 2011 to hear public
deputations on the 2012 Capital and Operating Budgets has been rescheduled to Wednesday,
December 7 at 9:30 a.m.
The meeting originally scheduled for December 7, 2011 to hear from

The City is proposing to withdraw funding from the pool at Frankland CC., as well as 6 other TDSB pools at Bedford Park CC, Gordon A. Brown MS, Hillcrest CC, Runnymede CI, S.H. Armstrong CRC and Sir Wilfred Laurier CI. I am very concerned about this.

I am absolutely shocked that this announcement would be made without any prior consultation with the City's community partners, the Toronto District School

City Council will be discussing the recycling and waste budget. Ward 30 residents count on putting out extra recycling in clear plastic bags. That was the agreement the city made with residents when the new bins were introduced. I will be fighting to keep overflow recycling pick up for Ward 30 residents.
