TTC Notice: Temporary Shuttle Bus on Local Streets

The TTC has sent out the following notice describing a temporary service change on Queen Street East, from Thursday June 30 to Tuesday July 5, 2011, between Greenwood and Broadview Avenue.

June 30 to July 5, 2011 501/301 QUEEN ROUTE During the period from 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 30 to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, the TTC will be carrying out repairs to the streetcar tracks on Queen Street East just east of Greenwood Avenue. Note: In the event of inclement weather, the timeline for the work and bus looping is subject to change.

Transit Service Changes: During the track repairs the following temporary changes to service will be made. (See map below)

• 501/301 QUEEN STREETCARS: Streetcars will be diverted both ways around the work zone via: Queen Street East, Coxwell Avenue, Gerrard Street East, Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East to route.

• 501/301 SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE: A bus service will be provided as detailed below. Buses will operate on some local streets. Westbound shuttle buses will operate on Queen Street East from Neville Park loop, through the established work zone, and continue west to River Street, looping via: north on River Street, east on Dundas Street East, south on Carroll Street and east on Queen Street East for the return eastbound trip. Eastbound Shuttle buses will be diverted around the work zone as a result of the required lane closures. Buses will operate from Carroll Street via: east on Queen Street East, north on Greenwood Avenue, east on Dundas Street East, south on Coxwell Avenue and east on Queen Street East to the Neville Park loop.

• 502 DOWNTOWNER and 503 KINGSTON ROAD TRIPPER BUSES Westbound buses; from Bingham loop buses will operate over regular routing and through the work zone.  Eastbound buses will be diverted around the work zone similar to the 501/301 shuttle routing.
