The focus of the public consultation process is to assess how changes to the airport would impact Toronto, including the ongoing revitalization of the waterfront and nearby communities on the water’s edge. The following issues will be considered in the public consultation:
- aviation noise, safety and infrastructure
- economic impacts
- land use and community impacts
- marine navigation, including coastal and habitat assessments
- public health impacts
- transportation impact
An update report by City staff on this matter for the September 24 meeting of Executive Committee is available online at http://bitly.com/169GKq9.
All Toronto residents are encouraged to participate in the public consultation and provide the City with feedback in person or online about this important issue. The public can obtain more information and complete an online survey (closing October 11) at http://www.toronto.ca/bbtca_review.
A final public consultation meeting will be held in early November. The final report is scheduled to be brought forward for consideration at the December 5 meeting of the City's Executive Committee. Pending decisions made by the Executive Committee, the final report will then go to Council for consideration.
