Registration for City of Toronto winter swim and skate programs and March Break camps will take place on Saturday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 10. The City is Toronto is the largest provider of safe, fun and high-quality recreation programs for people of all ages, skill levels and interests, with more than one million recreation program hours offered annually.
The City of Toronto is developing a Digital Infrastructure Plan to help guide decisions on how Toronto will evaluate and regulate digital technologies and data use for City services and other proposals.
Digital technologies – including "smart city technologies" – are bringing Toronto new benefits and ways of working to create an efficient, connected community. They are also associated with a number of broader public issues including privacy, transparency, accountability, public ownership, equity and protection of the public interest.

Councillor Paula Fletcher's motion addressing the problem of ads promoting vaping products on City property, was passed by Council today.
City staff wrote a report to the Government and Licensing Committee earlier this year detailing the health concerns associated with vaping, which include:
- vapour product use has been strongly associated with subsequent tobacco cigarette smoking among youth and young adults;
The Santa Claus Parade is Sunday, November 17th starting at 12:30 pm. The Bloor Viaduct will be closed on Sunday from 7 am to 2:30 pm as it will be used for the parade this year. Plan your route ahead and have fun!

Leslieville residents protested outside their apartment building on Saturday, saying they are being forced out so the landlord can renovate and jack up rent.
It's known as "renoviction," and one Toronto councillor says it's time to change the rules to stop landlords from getting away with it.
"It's terrifying as a tenant," said Coun. Paula Fletcher, who joined the protesters outside 245 Logan Avenue in Toronto's east end.

(Nov. 4, 2019 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC), the City of Toronto, Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF) and Park People marked another milestone today in their partnership to increase tree coverage on TCHC properties.
The TCHC Planting and Stewardship Initiative team gathered at 1615 Dundas St. E. to celebrate their 2019 plantings.The group aims to increase urban forest canopy cover and achieve environmental and quality of life benefits for TCHC tenants.
