Council approved changes to the Committee assignments under our new Mayor this week.
On Thursday, Council approved changes to the Committee assignments under our new Mayor. I was very honoured to have the support of Mayor Chow and my Council colleagues to be named Deputy Speaker of Toronto City Council.
I have also been appointed to many committees, boards and agencies including the Economic and Community Development Committee and to the Executive Committee, responsible for major City-Wide issues and key priorities, and the Economic & Community Development Committee.
I will be serving as the Mayor's Designate on CreateTO and the Toronto Community Housing Corporation Board and returning as Chair of the Film, Television and Digital Media Advisory Board.
After five years on Planning and Housing, fighting for affordable housing and standing up for tenants with the creation of the Sub-Committee on the Protection of Affordable Rental Housing I look forward to continuing that work while also tackling the important issues that come before Economic and Community Development.
Here is a full list of my appointments:
Mayor Chow has appointed Ausma Malik as her primary Deputy Mayor, and appointed Amber Morley, Jennifer McKelvie, and Mike Colle as three ceremonial Deputy Mayors. I want to Congratulate Deputy Mayor Malik and the other Deputy Mayor's on their appointment.
The full list of new committee assignments can be found on the city's website.
