Cavalcade of Lights to illuminate Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday

Nathan Phillips Square will be illuminated for the annual Cavalcade of Lights presented by Great Gulf on Saturday, November 28 at 6 p.m.

This Toronto tradition kicks off the holiday season and will include the countdown to the first lighting of the City's official Christmas tree led by Mayor John Tory, musical performances by some of Canada's top talent, a spectacular fireworks show and two skating parties. The event takes place at Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

Event schedule for Saturday night:

6 p.m. - Skating party to Disney® Frozen music

6:45 p.m. - Holiday medley sing-a-long with the Toronto Children's Chorus

7 p.m. - Nathaniel Dett Chorale performance with special guest appearance by the Toronto Children's Chorus

7:15 p.m. - Countdown with Mayor John Tory for first lighting of Toronto's official Christmas tree, sponsored by Edward Jones and Cavalcade of Lights display, sponsored by Toronto Hydro

7:20 p.m. - Musical performances by Crystal Shawanda, Ivana Santilli and Sean Jones, led by Sekou Lumumba and house band

8:15 p.m. - Spectacular fireworks display, sponsored by TekSavvy

8:30 p.m. - Concert with Canadian iconic rock/power pop quartet Sloan, sponsored by Great Gulf

9:20 p.m. - Skating party with DJ Serious
