Winterlicious announces new presenting sponsor Interac Association and launches ticket sales for Culinary Event Series

Today, the City of Toronto officially welcomed Interac Association as the new presenting sponsor for Winterlicious at the first-ever Chefs of Winterlicious Challenge. Toronto's top chefs participated in a friendly competition, resulting in a risotto with rutabaga three ways creation from Richard Andino, Executive Chef from Dyne Restaurant and Saverio Macri, Executive Chef from Cibo Wine Bar named as the winning dish. Each winning chef will have a donation made to the charity of their choice courtesy of Interac Association. Winterlicious 2014 offers two programs, the Culinary Event Series and the Prix Fixe Promotion, from January 31 to February 13.

"The culinary talents and dedication of the participating Toronto restaurants and chefs are what make this programming an overwhelming success," said Mike Williams, General Manager, Economic Development and Culture. "We are proud to welcome new presenting sponsor Interac Association to the festival this year and thank them for their important and enthusiastic support of the program."

2014 Culinary Event Series

The Chefs of Winterlicious Challenge also launched the Winterlicious Culinary Event Series, which features 16 one-of-a-kind cooking and dining experiences hosted by some of Torontos finest restaurants and chefs. Tickets for the culinary events make exceptional holiday gifts and go on sale Thursday, December 12. There is something to please all foodies in the lineup this year, from hands-on lessons, unique themed meals and deliciously romantic experiences, to a tin chef competition, a strolling fashion brunch, a theatre comfort food event and an attempt to break the current world record for the world's tallest tea cake stand.

We are extremely pleased to be the new sponsor for the City of Torontos Winterlicious and Summerlicious food festival programs, said Caroline Hubberstey, Head of External Affairs, Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation. It is a great way to help promote an important sector of the citys economy while reminding patrons that they can pay for their meal with one of the lowest cost options for merchants, Interac Debit.
