Update on a Potential Labour Disruption

As you may be aware, the City is in the midst of contract negotiations with Locals 416 and 79, who represent the City's inside and outside workers. While I hope that a fair agreement is reached with both locals, there is the possibility of either a lock-out or strike action beginning Friday, February 19.

The City has a contingency plan in place and I will be updating my website at www.councillorpaulafletcher.ca with any new information as it becomes available. My staff and I will work off-site in the event of a labour disruption and will be checking voicemails and emails regularly.

I also encourage you to contact 311, which will continue to be available 24/7. Toronto Police, Fire Services, Paramedic Services, Long-Term Care Homes and Services, as well as the TTC, TCHC, and most libraries will not be affected. Below is some additional advice about specific municipal services, and you can find out about the impact on any service at this link.
