TTC Priority Streetcar Track Repairs

Queen/Broadview Intersection Area

Weekend of April 9, 2011

501/301 Queen and 504 King Streetcar Routes

Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 through to 4:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, TTC track staff will be will be carrying out repairs to sections of the streetcar track on the east side and west side of the Queen/Broadview intersection.

Transit Service Changes

During this weekend period, streetcars on the 501/301 QUEEN and 540 KING routes will be diverted to accommodate this work. (See map below) • 501/301 QUEEN Streetcars will be diverted both ways via: Queen Street East, Coxwell Avenue, Gerrard Street, Broadview Avenue, Dundas Street, Parliament Street and Queen Street East to route. • 501/301 Temporary Bus Replacement Service: will be provided on Queen Street East between Neville Park loop and Sherbourne Street. • 504 KING Streetcars will be diverted both ways via: King Street East, Parliament Street, Dundas Street and Broadview Avenue to Broadview Station. • 504 Temporary Bus Replacement Service: will operate between Broadview Station and the King/Parliament intersection via regular streetcar routing.

Works Hours Excavation work to expose rail will be conducted during the daytime hours. However, in order to complete the repairs at both locations in the shortest possible time and ensure that streetcar service can resume in this area on Monday morning some night work will be required. While efforts will be made to keep noise level to a minimum, noise will be evident when some equipment is in full operation.

Traffic Access Traffic will be reduced to a minimum of one lane in all directions through the intersection during the repair work. With the exception of TTC buses, some turning restrictions at the intersection may apply to large vehicles.
