StreetARToronto (StART) East End 'Bridges to Art' Design Concepts

East End “Bridges to Art” is a City of Toronto funded program initiated by local Councillor Paula Fletcher to have an integrated street art vision for a series of murals on rail bridges in the Carlaw-Dundas area. This former industrial area has been transforming into a hub of cultural and creative businesses and residents. There are a total of nine bridges along the rail corridor that stretches from Eastern Avenue to Coxwell Avenue. StreetARToronto (StART) worked with Bespoke Cultural Collective to gather community input to develop a unifying theme and an integrated approach for mural installations at all nine underpass locations. This year two artists will be awarded commissions for the underpass on Gerrard Street at Carlaw Avenue and the underpass on Jones Avenue north of Gerrard Street.

TAKE THE SURVEY

Several different artist design concepts are being considered for each underpass by a community Advisory Committee. This survey provides you with an opportunity to review each artist's design concept and provide feedback. Results of this survey will be shared with the Advisory Committee evaluating each design. Your feedback will help the Advisory Committee select a winning design concept for each underpass. All constructive feedback will be shared with the artist whose design is selected for implementation on each underpass.

Please:

1. Review all 8 artist design concepts by clicking on the link or links below each Artist name (5 concepts for Jones Avenue Underpass, 3 concepts for Gerrard Street Underpass)

2. Rank each of the submissions based on how strongly you recommend each design concept to the Advisory Committee

3. Share your input on how you would strengthen any of the design concepts in this survey

Survey closes July 30, 2018 at 6pm EDT. Thank you for your time and participation.
