News Release - City Taking Proactive Measures to Enforce Dangerous Dog Orders
New measures come after Councillor Fletcher’s call for proactive enforcement in wake of recent maulings.
October 19 - Monarch Park Tree Tour and Mulching
Join your neighbours and fellow tree enthusiasts in an exciting exploration of
the trees in Monarch Park. Councillor Fletcher will be hosting a tour of Monarch
Park’s beautiful urban forest canopy with Jessica Piskorowski from
LEAF (Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests). On the tour we will visit and learn about the variety of trees in Monarch
Park and the many benefits they bring to the community. Also, following the tour
we will embark on mulching some of our newly planted trees, with
opportunities for you to adopt a tree of your own. Individuals who adopt-a-tree
on Saturday will help the tree grow through these next few critical years.
What: Monarch Park Tree Tour. Where: Monarch
Park – Meet at the North East corner of the park by the large rocks.
When: Thursday, October 19, 2013, 11:30 a.m – 1:00 p.m. (rain
or shine).
