Sidewalks are a critical piece of transportation infrastructure which provide accessibility and safety for all, including our most vulnerable road users.
New sidewalk 'missing links' are currently planned for construction on the north side of Commissioners Street between Logan Avenue and Leslie Street in 2020.
The limits are approx. 680 m and shown on the design below highlighted in fuchsia.
The sidewalk is proposed as a standalone project to provide accessibility and safety for pedestrians in the area, including employees working at properties along Commissioners Street.
Commissioners Street is also a "Collector" road.Under the Road Classification System, Road Classification Criteria calls for sidewalks on both sides of a Collector.
