Lower Don Trail Update - Construction Starting in September
Lower Don Trail Update - Construction Starting in September
Starting in late September 2015, the City will need to close the Lower Don Trail
between Pottery Road and Riverdale Park East & West for weeks at a time. The
Lower Don Trail is a 4.7 kilometre section of multi-use trail for pedestrians
and cyclists that runs along the Don River, from Pottery Road to Corktown
Commons. This project includes a number of works to improve the conditions of
the existing trail and access into the surrounding trail network. These
improvements are based on the
Lower Don Trail Master Plan (2013). First phase of construction will include:
- New pedestrian bridge at Pottery Road
- Improvements to the Belleville Underpass
- Trail repairs between Pottery Road and the Riverdale Bridge
There will be frequent trail closures.
During these closures the recommended DETOUR ROUTE is Boardview Avenue from Pottery Road to Riverdale Park East. For more information, please visit Lower Don Trail Construction Updates.Latest posts
