Live Green Grants in Ward 30

Ward 30 is one of the greenest Wards in the City.   The following organizations will be receiving Live Green Toronto Grants  their wonderful work in our community :

South Riverdale Community Health Centre in partnership with Beautification of Leslieville District (BOLD) has been awarded $23,900 for their project  The Leslieville/Riverdale Treeplanting and Tree Preservation Pilot Project.   This project encourages residents front and back yard trees and recruiting volunteers to help take a tree inventory as well as planting 150 trees on the City's right of way.  

Bike Sauce has been awarded $7,600. 00 for their project entitled Bike Sauce Resource Centre.  The centre is a donation-based pay what you can bicyle repair facility that promotes do-it-yourself cutlure and provides support and resources to citizens and community groups.

The Ralph Thornton Centre has been awarded $25,000 for their Riverdale Carbonbusters project.  The project will educate the neighbourhoods  or Rivertowne and South Riverdale on tanglible greenhouse gas and smog reduction strategies and eventually take these same messages across Tornto using community-engaged arts as a vehicle for environmental education.
