New water and creative sand play areas as well as a ‘teen zone’ and a story circle are all part of draft plans to improve Greenwood Park’s play area.
A special and final update of the 2022-2026 City Council term.
The plans were prepared by a city landscape architect after Councillor Fletcher brought together parents to discuss ideas for improvements. The design makes great use of stone, logs and planted beds to provide separate spaces for kids to play and teens to hang out. A stone story circle will be built into the hillside, and a paved space in front of the clubhouse will accommodate events, booths, and performances. The plan will be finalized after another round of input in May.
