A 'Transit-Oriented Community' (TOC) is a special arrangement between Infrastructure Ontario and a private developer to allow for significant increases in density at stations along the Ontario Line.
A TOC is being planned for the future Gerrard Station on the Ontario Line at Riverdale Plaza. You can read a report here.
Since this TOC was announced, I have pressed Infrastructure Ontario and the developer ChoiceREIT to add affordable housing into their plan. I am very disappointed that no commitment to include affordable housing has been made.
At Toronto and East York Community Council I submitted the following motions which City Council will debate at our May meeting:
I know our community strongly supports more affordable housing.

Major items included snow clearing, Ontario Line truck safety, blue bin collection, removal of provincial tenant protections, zoning changes to allow for more residential retail and more.
We considered issues such as speed cameras, expanding the Toronto Community Crisis Service to the TTC and more, as well as several of my motions.
