Environment Day postponed until October

Dear friends,

This year's Ward 30 Environment Day which always takes place on July 1st in Riverdale Park East has been postponed until October 17th in Riverdale Park East due to the strike. As many residents pull together their large items for drop off and recycling as well as hazardous waste items in anticipation of the convenient drop off at the Environment Day, I very much regret any inconvenience this causes.

When the labour dispute is resolved you may take any of your items to the closest transfer stations such as Commissioners or Bermundsey.

Unfortunately the regular Canada Day celebrations in Riverdale Park East have been cancelled for this year.

WoodGreen Community Services is working on a plan to assist seniors who cannot get to a transfer station with garbage. Should you know of anyone who requires assistance, please let me know.

The City’s website www.toronto.ca/labour-relations/index.htm has a list of all services which are affected by the strike and continues to be updated with new information.

The Access Toronto line is open 24 hours a day, including weekends and 7 days a week at 416-338-0338. TTY is 416-338-0889.

My office continues to assist you with those services not affected by the strike, as well as any emergency matters.

 Sincerely,

Paula Fletcher
