Currently an Environmental Assessment is underway for the naturalization of the mouth of the Don River which would ensure flooding containment in the event of a 100 year storm.
On September 21st, Toronto City Council will consider changes to the EA process that may hold up flooding mitigation for the Port Lands as well as South Riverdale. This is of great concern to our community.
The report to City Council also recommends removing WaterfronToronto as the lead developer for Toronto's Port Lands. Many believe this is the wrong direction for the development of the city's Central Waterfront.
