Danforth Church to be Turned Into Affordable Seniors' Housing

I have been working with WoodGreen Community Services to bring fifty new affordable rental homes for seniors to the Danforth in a new, mixed-use development at 60 Bowden Street.

The Danforth Baptist Church at Bowden Street and Danforth Avenue will be transformed into 50 new affordable homes for seniors by WoodGreen Community Services. It’s the first major development on Danforth Avenue after the adoption of the Danforth Planning and Heritage Study.

This week WoodGreen Community Services announced it received a donation of $4 million from the Sprott Foundation. In addition to creating much-needed affordable and supportive seniors' housing, the community benefits agreement for this project will provide jobs to local youth. I’m proud to support this initiative and I’d like to thank everyone involved.
