Results of Downtown Core Service Review Consultations

I would like to thank all of the residents who attended the public meetings I co-hosted on the Core Service Review. Over 200 people attended the meetings held on June 8th at the East York Civic Centre and on June 11th at City Hall.
I co-hosted these meetings with Councillors Janet Davis (Ward 31), Mary Fragedakis (Ward 29), Pam McConnell (Ward 28), Adam Vaughan (Ward 20) and
Kristyn Wong-Tam (Ward 27) to provide an opportunity for our communities' views to be represented in the consultation on services.
The participants clearly expressed a desire for more and better service, not less, arguing that City services are about nothing less than out quality of life.  They expressed strong opposition to cutting, selling or privatizing the services and assets that have helped make Toronto a great city.
The results of both meetings have been formally submitted to the City Manager for inclusion in his report.
