Background
During the summer of 2008, the Eastern Beaches area experienced a series of intense storms that resulted in the
flooding of many residents’ homes. As a result, an Environmental Assessment (EA) began in August 2009 with the
Eastern Beaches being identified as Study Area 32 for investigation (see map). Study Area 32 is loosely bounded by the
Don River (W), Danforth Avenue (N), Victoria Park Avenue (E) and Lake Shore Blvd (S). The study will develop a plan to
prevent future flooding and reduce the amount of storm water entering all storm and sanitary sewer systems.
