September 22 - 2013 Toronto Book Awards finalists and Diaspora Dialogues at Word On the Street

The five finalists for the 2013 Toronto Book Awards will read at the Word On the Street Book & Magazine Festival on Sunday, September 22. This free event will be held at Queens Park North from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Again this year, authors from Diaspora Dialogues join the reading program. Diaspora Dialogues supports writing that reflects Toronto's diverse artistic and literary culture.

About the Toronto Book Awards The Toronto Book Awards honour authors of books of literary or artistic merit that are evocative of Toronto.

The City of Toronto, in partnership with the Toronto Public Library, is inviting Torontonians to get a new read on Toronto with different ways to explore this years shortlisted books. A group reading and book-signing event will take place at the Toronto Public Librarys Yorkville Branch at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 3.

The winner of the 2013 Toronto Book Awards will be announced on Wednesday, October 9 at the Toronto Reference Library, Bram & Bluma Appel Salon. Members of the public are encouraged to come out and enjoy the evening awards celebration, hosted by CBC Radios Matt Galloway.
